If we were seeking to identify the dawn of the evolution of digital signage or the veritable "gada da vida" for its inception, we would need to look no further than the Casino. More specifically, Las Vegas has generally been considered the primordial cesspool and/or birthplace of our medium. As the birthplace, it has also often been used as an example for other deployments later. It is regularly referred to and referrenced in on-going deployments. But, just because digital signage started there

Casinos and $$$

When people vacation at Casinos they are generally expecting to spend money. And with odds in the house's favor, it is fairly healthy to assume that Casinos have the money to spend signage networks as well. That was, until the market tanked and people slowed their visits to Vegas. Either way, digital signage in a casino environment is about the money. Signage can aid in getting patrons to shell out more clams.

It's All About the Pomp

Oftentimes digital signage is more about ambiance. And, when Casinos are often competing for pompous flare, digital signage needs to be present. For, if one venue has it, any competing venue lacking it would surely be trumped. It's all about making a bigger, better, and more lasting impression than the next guy. And when ambiance is 90% of advertising for such venues, how could you say it better than by installing a digital out-of-home network.

Can you give some recent examples of digital signage installed in the casino environment? What was successful?
