Daktronics Inc (Nasdaq-DAKT) of Brookings, S.D., announced today that the National Basketball Association (NBA) has approved a test trial of Daktronics courtside light emitting diode (LED) scorer’s tables.

Until recently the NBA had approved digital light processing (DLP®), but not LED, technology courtside.

Daktronics engineers worked with the NBA to modify the current line of scorer’s tables to ensure player safety, the number one concern for the NBA. The new scorer’s tables incorporate the original ST-2011 scorer’s table design, but the polycarbonate face over the modules no longer exists and gas-loaded springs have been added behind each table face. Additional padding was added to the bottom front of the tables as well.
